You Are God’s Abode

Realize the depth of intimacy and exposure that you have with the Holy Spirit. It’s like having a guest in your house 24/7. If you had someone that you knew was at your place, there is a way you would handle yourself, as well as a way that you would be hospitable towards them. You would be mindful of anything they needed; you would be mindful of the things you said because they were there; you would want to serve them and make them comfortable…This is the reality of Holy Spirit in our lives.
Many times, we grieve Him unintentionally because we forget this. So we fight with people, we think wrongly, we allow evil thoughts and desires to go through our minds…He’s just there, in our house, watching us❗️❗️
Ephesians 4:25-32
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
This is such a heart check, because you cannot forget that you have a guest in your house. And Holy Spirit is even more than a guest — He has moved in to your house! He’s never leaving. But soooo many believers refuse to accommodate this new person that will now be living with them FOREVER. We don’t care what He likes, we do our own thing. We don’t care what His opinion is, we do our own thing. We are not interested in what makes Him comfortable, and we try to force Him to adapt to our lifestyle. But that will never work. It is we who have to adapt to Him. Yet He won’t force us. He will just be in His room, waiting. Grieved, but waiting.
Now the thing about it is, the different stages of our maturity reveal how much we have allowed the Holy Spirit to remodel, redesign, change the atmosphere, adjust our schedules… the more we have allowed Him to take charge of our lives, that’s how much more we look like Christ.
You HAVE TO be aware of the Holy Spirit at all times, otherwise you can find yourself going astray and you didn’t even know it. Living a life of consecration is not just about not “doing” wrong, it is about not BEING wrong.
And beloved, that is why nobody will ever arrive…we will forever be growing, learning, and being conformed. Take time to really acknowledge what Holy Spirit desires to do, RIGHT NOW, in your life, and regardless of whether or not you feel like it, understand it, see it...determine to AGREE AND ACCEPT. That’s it, nothing more, nothing less. Agree in your spirit, in your soul, and in your life. Many people are living in constant contradiction. Refuse that.
May the Lord grant us all the grace to be the expression of His life in the earth. AMEN.
Until next time, be blessed!
Bénie
