Living In Love

Love is God's language. And it is at once the most beautiful thing and yet the most complex. I love music, and many have said that music is the universal language. Of course I endorse it. I've heard others say it is Math...ok... I do like Math though, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. But in all honesty neither is music. Or at least not across the board, in terms of appreciation. I do believe it is safe to say that everyone does enjoy music at some level... I read somewhere once that God is a lover of music and has embedded it in the human spirit. But more than all these things, I think love is the universal language. Everyone–and everything–responds to love.

In its simplest form I believe love is care, and therefore yes, everything responds to care. Your home, your furniture, your car, your garden, your environment, animals, and ultimately people, and your relationships with them.

On a deeper level however, Love is a Person. Love is God Himself, and His Go(o)dness is expressed to us in Love and Holiness. There is no GOoD without GOD, but that's another discussion. Because God is good, God is Love. Because God is Love, He is good.

Sadly, I'm seeing that a lot of us that identify with Christ–or say that we do–don't speak His language of Love very well. Humor me for a second, and I am not so foolish to fail to recognize that in pointing a finger at my Christian brothers and sisters I have four fingers pointing right back at me! But I must speak the truth. There is SO much happening in the world, and while we recognize the increasingly loud cry of a world in desperate need of a Savior, we must be accountable to each other, within the Body, as to what and WHO we represent. The Lord Jesus said the world would know we are His by the way we love each other. But now it's as if we are more concerned with showing love to unbelievers but we are so spiteful and nasty to each other. It's heartbreaking! As a Christian, where is your love that covers your brother or sister when they are wrong? Do you talk to them first before you talk about them? What about prayer–do you pray for them when you notice the error, for God to redirect them? How are we going to go out and bring people into a divided house? That is why the world doesn't trust us anymore. We speak one way but act another way. We have put on a mask in dealing with the world and they have seen it and are calling us out. This post is for the followers of Christ. It is to my brothers and sisters. Can we pray for each other more, and live out the command to carry each other's burdens? We must begin to realize that when one of us fails, it affects us all because we are family. We all have a unique circle and scope of influence, and God has positioned us strategically. So instead of just seeing someone fall, realize that there are people that God wants to reach through them, and so it is your "responsibility" to pray for them.

This is hard, I know. But I also know it is possible!! When you release your heart to Christ, it unleashes fountains of love within you you never even knew you possessed... True love is work! And the truth is, sometimes people can make loving them seem impossible. But with Christ in your heart it is IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO LOVE! Just think of Christ dying for your sins, and how deserving you were of that death. If Christ loved you like that, and has been patient with you, and has put up with all your mess, surely you can be patient with your Christian brothers and sisters. Just like God is sanctifying you, He is sanctifying them.

I'm becoming aware of reservoirs of love in some folks around me and it's overwhelming to watch it flow out to others, even to me... God truly is a lover, and He loves through people. He loved us through the sacrifice of Christ, He expresses His love for others through us. Be not a reservoir, but rather a fountain of the love of Christ. Let it ever flow out of you. Anything that is not love will only hurt you–unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, suspicion, alienation, and the like. You become your own prisoner in these things, holding yourself captive... Free yourself through Love. Allow Christ to come alive in you, it is up to you. You were created for Love, for Him!

Let's determine to show love to each other. I honestly believe that if we loved each other as we should, the world would seek us out to know our God, we wouldn't have to seek them out to convince them about Him.

Remain blessed fam!🌹

With love,

Bénie
